Greetings in the Most Holy Name of our Lord Jesus Christ and His
Most Blessed Mother.
During the Season of Advent we longed for the coming of our Lord
Christ. It is during this blessed season of Christmastide that we
experience the joy of His coming into the world. It is at this
solemn time that we come to truly know the Incarnation of the
Savior.
In the continuation of the Holy Gospel according to St. Luke, St.
Luke tells us of the birth of Our Lord: “And Mary brought forth her
firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes and laid Him in
a manger.” May we rejoice and declare with the Psalmist, “Let the
heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad before the face of the
Lord: because He cometh.”
(Ps. 95:11-13)
Each of us are called daily to come to Jesus through His Church. It
is through the goodness and loving kindness of God that our Savior
appeared, that being justified by the grace of Our Lord, each of us
may be heirs of life everlasting.
May we like those humble shepherds of long ago not delay our coming
to Christ. The Lord manifested to these shepherds the Incarnation of
His Son, so that we too may come to the Infant Jesus and adore Him
in the crib.
Let us fall down before the Holy Child and bless God, for the birth
of Jesus is the first step to our Redemption. Our Blessed Mother, in
her spotless virginity gave to the world He whom Isaias the Prophet
saith to be the “Prince of Peace.” Thus, it is in the midst of
darkness that the “true light,” Jesus Christ is born.
The Holy Catholic Church rejoices in celebrating these sacred
mysteries that each of us may be found acceptable, that we may live
worthy lives and attain His fellowship. Our Lord comes to us in the
Holy Communion at each Holy Mass. It is in the Mass that we receive
Christ’ blessings and return to a busy world which does not know
Christ, nor his followers. Sadly, those people who do not know the
Savior will unknowingly celebrate an artificial Christmas; thought
it may be filled with joy, without the Savior it has little meaning.
The Collect for Christmas Day
1928 Book of Common Prayer
ALMIGHTY God, who hast given us thy only begotten Son to take our
nature upon him, and as at this time to be born of a pure virgin;
Grant that we being regenerate, and made thy children by adoption
and grace, may daily be renewed by thy holy Spirit; through the same
our Lord Jesus Christ, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the
same Spirit ever, one God, world without end. Amen.

Please do not neglect to give to your Church.
