History of All Saints' Anglican Church (UECNA) Charles Courtney Tew entered The Citadel at its opening in 1842, and graduated first in his Class in 1846. He founded the Hillsborough Military Academy in 1859. This building is a part of the School, as is the frame building to the west and the brick residence to the East, across the street. The Mists of time have obscured the original use of the building but it is thought that it may have been the chapel for the school. In 1991 this building was in deplorable condition but Frank Frederick, an experienced builder (and former Clerk of the Superior Court) gave the opinion that it could be restored. As a consequence and in reliance on his opinion work was begun and on Christmas Eve 1992 the first service was held. Services have been held every Sunday since at 11:00 AM. |
