An Open Letter to America and her Allies.

Psalm 3. Domine, quid multiplicati? From the Psalter

L
ORD, How are they increased that trouble me! Many are they that rise against me.
Many one there be that say of my soul, There is no help for him in his GOD.

But thou, O LORD, art my defender; thou art my worship, and the lifter up of my head.
I did call upon the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill.

I laid me down and slept, and rose up again; for the LORD sustained me.
I will not be afraid for ten thousands of the people, that have set themselves against me round about.
Up, LORD, and help me, O my GOD, for thou smitest all mine enemies upon the cheek-bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.
SALVATION BELONGETH UNTO THE LORD; AND THY BLESSING IS UPON THY PEOPLE.

This Psalm says it all for us this morning the day after the terrible events of the 11th of September.  It is only to our Heavenly Father we can turn for the kind of guidance meaning and purpose as we reel and struggle to understand why.

Let us pray – In Time of Calamity

O
GOD, merciful and compassionate, who art ever ready to hear the prayers of those who put their trust in thee; Graciously hearken to us who call upon thee, and grant us thy help in this our need; through Jesus Christ our LORD.                            Amen.

O
ETERNAL GOD, through whose mighty power our fathers won their liberties of old; Grant, we beseech thee, that we and all the people of this land may have grace to maintain these liberties of old; Grant, we beseech thee, that we and all the people of this land may have grace to maintain these liberties in righteousness and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord.                         Amen

We are requesting all in our UECNA family and our friends throughout the world to join with us in saying Special Prayers for our Nation, Its Leaders; Members of the Military, Fire Fighters, Law Enforcement officers and for all those in the Health Care field that are and will be involved in caring for the wounded and afflicted.
